The stepwise transmission of genetic traits from one generation to the next is called ‘inheritance’.
When a child is born in a family, the child’s eyes, features, complexion, hair color etc. Meets parents or his/her siblings or grandparents, maternal grandparents etc.
The children get all these characteristics from their ancestors, especially from their parents. The transmission of these heredity characteristics from generation to generation is called heredity.
It means to say that the transmission of characteristics from one generation to another ie from parents to offspring is called heredity. This sequence continues from generation to generation. Although not all the characteristics of the parents are the same in the progeny, some of the characteristics are also different in the progeny.
