A historian refers to a person who specializes in the study of history. On the basis of his expertise and on the basis of the facts he collects in relation to history, he/her composes books and articles related to history.

To become a historian, one has to study history for years and find authentic facts. On the basis of these authentic facts and past deep study, the historian writes about past history.
To become a historian one must have an interest in history and the intellectual ability to understand the past. Apart from this, the skill of verifying the authenticity of facts is also necessary for a historian. Only by having all these qualities can he write a true and accurate history.

The history that we all read in our textbooks has been written by some historians. A historian can be a single person or a group of persons.
